One of the warmest and most welcoming cities in Albania, the beautiful Pogradec lies in the southeast of Albania, along the shore of Lake Ohrid. You’ve got plenty of things to do in Pogradec, like swimming, fishing, exploring, and more!

How to Get to Pogradec?

You can get to Pogradec by car from any major city in Albania. From Tirana, it is about a two-hour drive. The road is in good condition, and you’ll also pass through a tunnel, which has shortened the length of the trip significantly. 


You’ll know as soon as you approach Pogradec, with the beautiful Lake Ohrid accompanying you. 


There are buses departing regularly from the Terminal in Tirana every hour or so. They all provide air conditioning, and the drivers are careful and understanding, so your trip is sure to go well. 


Buses tend to stop along the way, so the trip may take about two and a half to three hours; it depends. A bus ticket to Pogradec from Tirana costs €5.5.

You can also catch a taxi to Pogradec from Tirana. There are many taxi companies available, or even independent taxi drivers, that you can choose from. 


A taxi to Pogradec usually costs about 60–80 euros, depending on the company.

One of the things to do in Pogradec is also hiking for all the adventurous explorers. It’s a very unique rock formation in the shape of a sailing ship. It has a length of about 100 meters and is 70 meters tall, and it holds scientific and cultural value. 


Guri I Kamjes is located near the village of
Dardhe, about 1,461 meters above sea level. It’s about 12 kilometers away from the center of Pogradec by car, and 2,7 kilometers are walking trails. 


It’s an overall easy hike, so you don’t have to be an expert to embark on this little adventure.
